The IEP academics focus their efforts on topics related to the study of both regulated and unregulated markets, how economic agents interact with these markets, regulatory capture, competition, meritocracy, labor productivity of employees and companies. This is grouped into the following lines of research:

Line 1

Markets, competition, and regulatory capture

This line groups up the research work whose focus is on the analysis of the structure and operation of regulated and non-regulated markets, as well as the interaction of participating agents in these markets. This analysis is approached from different fields of the microeconomics, The ones that stand out are: industrial organization, economics of organizations, regulation economics, and information economics.

This line brings together the research dedicated to the study of markets and politics interactions, in areas such as finances, regulations, free competition, sustainability, and segregation.
